A Simple Word for Complex People

Faith and fellowship must become the chemotherapy for the malignancy of division in our society. Within Christian fellowship there simply is no room for finger pointing and condemnation. So it's time to park that foolishness at the door and practice radical, countercultural inclusion.  

How we mark time is important for how we understand our circumstances. Choosing to remember those who helped you get where you are, and how God delivered you from what you could have been, puts life in the proper perspective.

After a two week hiatus, Dr. Stapleton is back with a word about recapturing the melting-pot nature of the church, where differences melt away and unity in Christ rules over all. In a time of deep division and strife, it's a critical lesson to relearn.

Little is much in the hands of Jesus. God is in the multiplication business. God can make dirt breathe. You don't have to bring much to Jesus in order to create big change in the world.

Sometimes, your feelings aren't your friends. You need to be redirected back to reality. Those moments are when we need to listen for God's voice, whether it's in the calamity or the calm.

You'll see what you're seeking. If you're looking for pain and misery, you'll find it. If you're looking for joy and serenity, you'll find it. If you're in the middle of chaos, you can focus on the chaos, or you can seek God in the midst of it. 

We're all wounded in some way, especially these days. The Bible says our wounded affect us, but they don't define us. In fact, the pain of that woundedness gives birth to something glorious. 

God's plans for us individually, and for us as a community and nation, are beyond what we can grasp and comprehend. Faith means trusting God, and following God's lead in life, rather than trying to figure things out on our own.

If you're like me, you're ready for life to return to "normal," whatever that means for you. But the Bible shows that God is constantly calling us out of "normal" into new places with new people, new rules, and new ways of navigating life. Could this be one of those times for you?

Our first in-person worship service in four months. Freedom is difficult to accurately define directly, but at the core of the American experience. It's important we think about the nature and purpose of the freedom we enjoy, so we can honor this gift properly.
